Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Medical AI and Computer Vision
The School of Computing and Informatics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team. We welcome applicants with a strong research background and enthusiasm in medical artificial intelligence and computer vision.
Research Focus
The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with Dr. Hao Zheng and Dr. Min Shi, contributing to one or more of the following research areas:
- Multimodal medical data integration and analysis
- Trustworthy and generalizable AI in medical imaging
- Medical large language models (LLMs)
- Causal representation learning
- Accessible and equitable AI for healthcare
The research environment includes access to rich medical datasets, high-performance computing resources, and an interdisciplinary collaboration platform.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in medical AI
- Publish high-quality papers in top-tier conferences or journals
- Participate actively in ongoing projects and interdisciplinary collaborations
The position offers a competitive salary. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of annual renewal based on performance and project progress.
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. (obtained or expected soon) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
- A strong publication record in top-tier venues related to computer vision, medical image analysis, or artificial intelligence
- Excellent research, communication, and teamwork skills
- Preferred expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning
- Computer Vision and Medical Image Analysis
- Multimodal Foundational Models for Vision and Language
